Channel 4 Television Headquarters, London SW1

This landmark project for Wheelers comprised new build headquarters offices, studio and transmission centre with below ground car parking and landscaped park. The award-winning buildings are highly specified and serviced and are characterised by the curved glass entrance screen, glass walkways and wall-climbing lifts. The Architect for the building was Richard Rogers Partnership (now Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners) and it was constructed under a bespoke form of management contract, co-developed by Wheelers, at a contract value of some £39m (as completed in 1994).

Wheelers provided full quantity surveying and cost consultancy services for building and mechanical and electrical engineering services together with Executive Cost Management for all construction and occupation expenditure.
 
Ever since completion of the original building, Wheelers have continued to assist and advise Channel 4 on all aspects of cyclical re-fitting, conversion and maintenance of the building, addressing evolving working practices, technologies and lifecycle issues.
