Hinxton Hall, Cambridgeshire

The North Campus at Hinxton includes the restored Grade II* listed Hinxton Hall with overnight accommodation, management facilities and new dining hall extension together with a separate conference centre with seminar and IT training rooms and a 300 seat auditorium, constructed within existing listed structures. Wheelers provided full quantity surveying services on the manage and construct contract.
This project formed part of our total role in the development of the overall site to form The Wellcome Trust Genome Campus, which included some 50,000m² of laboratories and ancillary facilities on the country house estate, conceived and designed to map and sequence the human genome, “the Code of Life”. Residential accommodation for visiting scientists and extensive landscaping also formed part of this major project.
