Scientific Projects

IAH Pirbright
The IAH is a major international centre for research on animal diseases and a major force in education and training producing good science that is useful science. Wheelers provided services for Project Co-Ordination, Quantity Surveying, Employer’s Agent and Planning Supervisor to the IAH up to 2000 on a range of new and refurbishment projects totalling in excess of £15 million (unadjusted).

These projects, which are extremely complex by reason of the requirement to maintain disease security, include the largest negative pressure biological support unit in Europe, BSE research facilities, Category 3 laboratories and a new research centre building which comprises two lecture theatres, reading rooms, central library, computer centre (including training facilities) senior staff write up rooms and Campus administration offices.   In addition two large incinerator facilities have been constructed.
